AT & T was established by Alexander Graham Bell ’ s father in law and controlled the Bell System of telephone services across the United States . Accused of being a monopoly , it was broken up in 1983 by the US government , creating many of AT & T ’ s current competitors . Cloud is admittedly a small part of the telecommunications firm ’ s offering , but the company nevertheless offers enterprise services such as accelerated content delivery and scalable , elastic cloud storage .
