Seamless connectivity with open-source Biller pointed out that MTConnect not only provides the connectivity but also trains the engineers in the factory and helps to monitor the processes .
“ In the past , you would buy machines from all sorts of outstanding companies and would have their proprietary communication protocol . Your engineers would have to learn this , decipher it and try to figure out how to integrate it with their databases and their infrastructure ,” he commented .

It ’ s always the same communication protocol that allows us to get to a plug-and-play environment where we just connect the machines , connect the data cable or connect to the wireless infrastructure , and you ’ re up and running .
