DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

How can companies ensure data quality and governance while accelerating the pace of digital transformation?

Grant Caley: Traditionally, data quality and governance were applied as information loaded into applications and systems of record. When it comes to delivering this at scale, that model is too slow, costly and dependent on multiple copies.
Companies have to apply quality and governance to where the data is stored. That can then be tailored to a user’ s needs without being copied and changed. With quality and governance built into the data from its storage location, digital transformation doesn’ t need to slow, in fact, it will be enhanced.
Ann Maya: The most effective approach is with an AI-driven platform that can maintain a single, authoritative source for master data with continuous quality monitoring and enrichment while delivering insights for human oversight. Data governance relies on configurable access control, audit trails and regulatory reporting capabilities. This is the only way to maintain data integrity while accelerating transformation.
The answer is not to create gates, but enable a control plane to discover all APIs, check them and then ensure security and regulatory policies are applied at build time for all new APIs created – governance by design – so you get control without the bottlenecks.
