When it comes to AI implementation and the music industry as a whole, Berklee’ s position as an educational leader means its AI implementations will influence broader sector practices. Looking forward 12 to 18 months, Berklee’ s technology roadmap includes continued conferencing solution upgrades and predictive maintenance powered by AI. This fits into the college’ s mission to upgrade multipurpose spaces unique to Berklee’ s mission. These large environments serve as classrooms, performance venues, dance studios and rehearsal spaces and require full audiovisual integration including music consoles and outboard gear – complexity that demands careful planning to support diverse use cases.
Beyond expansion, standardisation is a priority for Varun. By working with its primary partners – including Logitech – Berklee is forming the foundation for creating consistent user experiences, meaning anyone entering any room intuitively understands how to operate the technology.
“ If someone walks into any room in college, we want them to immediately know how to use the tech in the space,” Varun says.“ This is one of the next big missions for us, bringing a common experience at Berklee with technology, wherever you go.”
