How does it work ? No pesticides , herbicides or insecticides are to be used , everything is grown locally to stay fresher for longer with no need to rinse ; therefore removing traceability issues and cutting food miles with shorter ‘ farm to fork ’ times . Energy-efficient , low-heat LEDs allow the lighting to be placed very close to the tops of plants , enabling tightly-stacked vertical layers .
