ELEA DATA CENTERS
PIONEERING LIQUID COOLING TO SUPPORT AI
As a leading data centre provider in Brazil , Elea Data Centers is committed to supporting the region ’ s AI growth . In order to achieve this , the company is using liquid cooling systems from leading data centre infrastructure company Vertiv for its purpose-built AI data centres in Brazil .
The companies announced the partnership at the end of 2024 . The cooling systems from Vertiv are part of Elea ’ s first-phase investment of US $ 300m for AI-ready data centres . These systems are designed to ultimately help Brazil succeed in the global AI race , with Vertiv providing hundreds of cooling distribution units ( CDUs ) to support liquid cooling for AI applications .
“ We have collaborated on a hybridcooled data wall for AI and machine learning deployment ,” Alessandro explains .
“ It is the first of its kind to show what we know in Latin America . Vertiv is the first company showcasing this kind of equipment in the Americas . The very first CDUs come from the Mexican factory , which is coming to our São Paulo site . And we will be deployed at the end of 2025 .”
When it comes to impact in Brazil , Alessandro is optimistic , particularly as the country ’ s data centre market becomes more mature .
“ I ’ m very happy to pioneer this technology in Brazil and Latin America ,” he says . “ I have to say that the flexibility that we ’ ve learned to have in our engineering department was key , because this is really new . You need to think ahead .
“ Vertiv is incredible . They are preparing for a rack of one megawatt density . So imagine a rack of one .”
He adds : “ Many data centres have critical capacity . Since we have a lot of green energy available as an ecosystem , I understand that the impact will be to attract more and more AI deployment to the region .”
