ISOC is a non-profit with a simple but profound mission: to ensure the internet remains open, global and secure for everyone. ISOC provides the organisational and financial home for the Internet Engineering Task Force( IETF), the body responsible for creating and maintaining the internet’ s core technical standards, like TCP / IP and HTTP. It funds projects that build internet infrastructure in underserved regions, advocates against governmentled shutdowns and defends the internet’ s fundamental architecture from fragmentation.
