AN UPDATE ON SPACEX
Elon Musk’ s rocket company SpaceX is preparing for what could be the most significant event in financial history with a value expected to surpass US $ 1tn once it goes public.
For years, SpaceX has operated as a private titan, fuelled by government contracts and private funding rounds. But new reports suggest the company is moving quickly toward a June 2026 market debut.
As well as looking to raise US $ 75bn, Musk is targeting a total company valuation of US $ 1.75tn.
To put that into perspective, if SpaceX hits that number it would be more valuable than Meta or even Musk’ s own Tesla.
2030, according to the International Energy Agency( IEA)’ s World Energy Outlook Special Report.“ Breakneck demand growth from data centres and AI is helping drive up electricity use in advanced economies,” says Faith Birol, Executive Director of IEA.
This massive consumption raises immediate sustainability concerns and pressures existing electrical grids, water supplies and land use, bottlenecks that orbital solutions claim to bypass.
While some experts view this expanding base-load demand as an opportunity to drive investment in better energy technology, NVIDIA’ s Director of Technology Policy Eric Breckenfeld noted that growing demand creates the best opportunity to explore new, albeit expensive, technologies.
Second, the US is facing a primary limiting factor for global AI growth in the form of a labour shortage. It lacks the specialised engineers and electrical workers required to build new AI data centres and modernise transmission infrastructure.
