The studio is also exploring how AI might optimise production workflows, though not in the way many might expect. DreamWorks maintains a firm stance against using AI for image generation, instead focusing on operational efficiencies that free artists to concentrate on creative work.
“ DreamWorks does not use AI in the creation of imagery for any of its films, but the studio hopes AI can help to optimise its production pipeline through practical measures in end-toend studio orchestration,” Patricia says.
