Capgemini is accelerating its physical AI ambitions following significant industry recognition from Gartner. The IT services leader has been named a‘ Market Shaper’ in Gartner’ s Emerging Market Quadrant for Physical AI Services, Established Vendors, while also earning the distinction of being named the current Company to Beat in the sector.
The accolades highlight Capgemini’ s comprehensive capabilities in bridging AI, engineering, operational technology, digital twins and robotics to help organisations deploy autonomous systems in complex industrial settings.
Gartner specifically noted Capgemini’ s simulation-first delivery framework, robust enterprise integration capabilities, expanding ecosystem partnerships and strong focus on human-in-the-loop autonomous architectures.
“ Gartner recognised our lab team is focused on trying to solve the challenging aspects within physical AI and robotics,” explains Pascal Brier, Group Chief Innovation Officer at Capgemini. Those core challenges can be broken down into dexterity, speed, reliability and orchestration.
“ There are a few elements of complexity that are not yet fully solved and I don’ t want to frighten you with those,” Pascal says.“ There’ s nothing unusual about that. Technology is still new and there’ s a lot of progress being made every month but there are still challenges with dexterity. For example, the hands of the robots are not the hands of a human so anything that requires precision is still very challenging.
