International scrutiny for China China manufactures the majority of the world’ s humanoid robots, with policymakers backing hardware advances to accelerate deployment in logistics, manufacturing and consumer sectors.
As hundreds of robots marched in formation during the games’ opening ceremony to demonstrate synchronised coordination, China’ s tremendous feats in the realm of industrial development was clear for all to see.
However, the nation’ s tech sector now faces international regulatory action regarding hardware manufacturing origins. In July, the US Federal Communications Commission announced an import ban targeting new foreign-made humanoid robots, citing national security. This was followed by the US Department of Defence adding Unitree – a prominent Chinese humanoid robot manufacturer – to its list of companies deemed to have military ties, further restricting trade access for Chinese robotics firms.
While mass humanoid deployment requires further technical progress, recent developments are dramatically reshaping expectations when it comes to the workforce of the future.
