Amar Subramanya, formerly Google’ s Head of Engineering for the Gemini chatbot, has joined Microsoft as Corporate Vice President of AI. After 16 years at Google, Amar praised Microsoft’ s culture as“ refreshingly low ego yet bursting with ambition”. His move is part of Microsoft’ s strategic AI talent acquisition, alongside more than 20 hires from Google’ s DeepMind.

Donovan Waller brings more than 30 years in industrial technology to his new role as mining giant Maaden’ s new CTO. He previously led Anglo American’ s FutureSmart Mining programme. At Maaden, he drives AI, automation and IIoT adoption to create the“ mine of the future”, advancing Saudi Arabia’ s Vision 2030 goals.
