DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

The technology industry is notorious for rapid turnover and fleeting tenures, so spending more than three decades at a single organisation is a rarity. For Sheldon Monteiro, Executive Vice President and Chief Product Officer at Publicis Sapient, that longevity isn’ t a sign of standing still – it is the result of a relentless, self-confessed geekiness about how work actually functions.

Arriving at the firm as a software engineer, his trajectory has spanned marketing, enterprise architecture, global alliances, organisational design and now steering the company’ s global technology strategy.
That rare vantage point gives Sheldon an unmatched perspective on the mechanics of enterprise evolution.
Reflecting on his remarkable journey, he notes:“ Every two to three years I’ ve had an amazing opportunity to do different things so it honestly doesn’ t feel like being at one company. I get to do all these different jobs. I literally started here as an engineer and rose up the ranks. Each opportunity gave me something new and kept me genuinely curious and if you can do all of that in the safety of a culture that you really want to work for, you will.”
That curiosity feeds directly into how Publicis Sapient views its purpose in an era of unprecedented technological disruption.
“ It’ s about constantly learning and making an impact,” Sheldon says.“ When I joined the company, we articulated our purpose in different words but the meaning is still the same: to help people thrive in the brave pursuit of the next. We are fundamentally about making the world a better place for our clients and their customers.”
