British oil and gas company bp has produced 20,000 additional barrels of oil each day over the last five years, which it attributes to digital integration of AI and advanced analytics across its facilities. For example, bp uses 4D seismic imaging to provide engineering teams with an AI-enhanced view of reservoir movements over extended periods. The company also uses virtual rock modelling, creating digital rock representations from physical core scans. bp also credits the technology with preventing an average of 4 % of overall production from dropping offline.
