Influenced by the first commercially successful microcomputer – the Altair 8800 – Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs work on developing their own microcomputer , launching the Apple I in 1976 .
A year later , the Apple II was launched , becoming the first microcomputer that appealed to the average person and began the computer of choice for amateur programmers . Today , Apple is expanding into spatial computing and Gen AI and in 2018 became the first to reach a value of US $ 1tn .
