Scott ’ s 20-year career has spanned both academia and industry ; as a researcher , engineer and leader . Prior to joining Microsoft , he was senior vice president of engineering and operations at LinkedIn , where he helped build the technology and engineering team , and led the company through an IPO and six years of rapid growth . Previously he oversaw mobile ads engineering at Google , including the integration of its $ 750 million acquisition of AdMob . At AdMob , Scott was responsible for engineering and operations for the platform ’ s mobile monetisation . Before AdMob , Scott held leadership positions at Google in search and ads engineering , helping with its early efforts establishing remote engineering centres .

Volkswagen

Hofer is acting CIO of the Volkswagen Group having had a long career within automobile manufacturing . She started at VW in 1991 in the business processes department and went on to become assistant to the then company CIO in 1995 . She became Head of Marketing for Gedas Telematics in Berlin and then Gedas Brazil in San Paulo , where she was in charge of the E-Commerce Competence Centre . In 2001 she returned to Volkswagen working on e-business infrastructure , client services , IT projects for procurement and procurement planning . In 2016 she took over the management of information security and became Group CIO this March .
