He currently holds the titles of Executive Vice President , Chief Information Officer , and is a member of the Executive Committee for Johnson & Johnson , the largest and most broadly based healthcare company in the world .
Swanson leads a team of 134,000 people - spanning 260 companies in more than 75 countries - and works to accelerate and advance the company ' s digital health ecosystem .
Before joining Johnson & Johnson , Swanson was the CIO and Head of Digital Transformation at Bayer Crop Science - a $ 20bn division of Bayer . He also served as Monsanto ' s CIO for five years , and spent nine years working as Vice President and CIO for Johnson & Johnson ' Pharmaceutical Research and Development .
