Before joining Daimler he held various IT leadership positions at General Electric , including the CIO post of GE Capital Japan , the group ' financial services provider .

Since starting her career at First National Bank , Unathi Mtya has held key positions at several major companies and institutions . She has qualifications from the University of Fort Hare , University of Witwatersrand and Columbia University and is an avid runner of international marathons : twice completing the New York and Paris marathons , along with marathons in London , China and Berlin .
