COOLING THE AI FACTORY: MOTIVAIR AT LAKE MARINER
At the core of TeraWulf’ s massive 3GW Lake Mariner facility transformation is a liquid cooling infrastructure delivered by Motivair by Schneider Electric.
Part of a combined US $ 290m AI infrastructure deployment, Motivair’ s specialised thermal management technology is engineered to handle dense, heat-intensive workloads.
To support high-performance computing, cloud and AI demands, Motivair supplied advanced Coolant Distribution Units, In-Rack Manifolds and proprietary ChilledDoors. This heavy fluid-piping system optimises energy consumption at scale, allowing the campus to abandon traditional crypto air-cooling in favour of highdensity liquid cooling capable of sustaining next-generation AI factories.
He separates the wider market into three groups.“ I’ lI break the industry down into three sectors,” he says, describing hyperscalers with standardised designs, co-locators managing varied service level agreements across tenants and neoclouds themselves, which he describes as younger and more open to design support.
The distinctions matter operationally, he adds, since“ building a data centre for AWS
