“ It’ s very advantageous from an IT resource, efficiency, latency and sovereignty perspective to move closer to the edge,” he says.
The constraint, for now, is the technology rather than the infrastructure.
“ The problem is that the models and the applications aren’ t that mature yet,” Steven says.“ So it’ s hard to optimise and dedicate IT to that until it’ s more mature.”
Once that maturity arrives, deployments will look different to a single model running in isolation.
“ It’ s not that you’ re running one model at the edge, you’ ll be running different models together and using Agentic AI as the orchestration,” he says.
