But if businesses and digital are indivisible , the skills gap is one challenge which is cause for concern . Whereas every organisation , from banks and insurance companies to retail and transport possessing vast stores of data that can yield valuable business information , a survey from SnapLogic found 73 % UK firms said they lacked the talent to complete AI and data science initiatives . This is according to Shaun Dippnall , CEO of EXPLORE Data Science Academy , who adds : “ One of the biggest constraints to digital transformation will be the skills shortage and companies are going to have to adopt a ‘ grow your own ’ philosophy to realise their plans .”
