“ In today ’ s world , it ’ s not possible to deliver all areas of banking services that your clients may need . You need to be very smart when deciding the battles you want to take on individually and those that you decide you need support with .
“ This is where partnerships are so important . For us , Visa is that partner . They ’ ve helped us deliver solutions , such as using mobile phones as pointof-sale ( POS ) systems , something very few banks were doing at the time .
“ Partnerships in corporate lending have been a great support too . We partnered with nCino to bring their system to us . Building a system ourselves would have been very timeconsuming , so in this instance , we partnered with them for the platform . “ Obviously , there are other areas that we have developed natively , such as our app , which further highlights the need to pick and choose the right areas to innovate independently and ones where partnerships are the right option .” technologymagazine . com 183
