Helping replicate Huawei’ s success To support and enable others to achieve similar results through the use of AI, Huawei launched the ACT Pathway at MWC Barcelona – first introduced at the company’ s CONNECT 2025 summit in Shanghai back in September. On top of this, Huawei’ s SHAPE 2.0 partner framework was upgraded with AI as its core engine.
The five major updates included AI-powered product upgrades, upgraded joint innovation mechanisms, helping partners develop AI capabilities, making cooperation more efficient with AI and creating more growth opportunities with AI.
One of the most significant hurdles for traditional industries is the high cost of digital infrastructure. Because of this, Huawei advocates for a driving construction through the application model. Instead of“ paving the road before driving the car,” Charles suggests building infrastructure around specific AI value scenarios.
“ Simply put, do not digitalise for the sake of digitalisation – instead, work towards the infrastructure construction around solving specific production and operational challenges, namely AI value scenarios,” he says. For those with limited capital, Huawei offers a public cloud model, turning CAPEX into OPEX through a pay-as-you-go system.

and quality relied on manual inspections that were as exhausting as they were prone to oversight. At MWC 2026, Huawei demonstrated how AI is stepping in to provide a tireless, more precise set of“ smart eyes”.
At PetroChina Lanzhou Petrochemical, the system integrated intelligent“ smart eyes” into the production line, boosting quality inspection accuracy from 70 % to 95 % and improving overall efficiency by more than 15 %.
Charles says:“ More importantly, this does not merely replace the human eye – it realises fully-digitalised traceability of quality data across the entire process and liberates workers from arduous labour. This represents the true warmth of technology.”
Beyond quality control, safety remains the“ non-negotiable baseline”. Huawei now combines spectral remote sensing with AI to detect hazardous gas leaks in seconds. In the oil sector, the Pangu predictive model has allowed Changqing Oilfield to identify hidden risks with 94 % accuracy, shifting the industry from“ break-fix” to proactive prevention.
