The clinical evolution of AUBMC has been concurrent with Wakim ’ s career . In his role as IT Director he works with the CMIO , Dr . Ghassan Hamadeh , on IT strategic planning with an executive team at the medical centre . Wakim ’ s responsibilities often focuses on governance and ensuring that processes are streamlined between different teams . “ We ’ ve created governance models where requests are sent to the multidisciplinary stakeholder groups , including physicians , nurses , administrators and IT analysts . These requests are reviewed and if approved , are sent through to project management for scheduling and execution ,” he explains . Wakim ’ s role is to also ensure that these projects are implemented as smoothly as possible from a change management perspective .
