Jensen believes that AI starts with infrastructure. He says:“ We’ re going to invest in helping start off the AI ecosystem of infrastructure. Once we get the flywheel going, then research startups, businesses, more consumption of infrastructure – infrastructure enables more research, more research, more breakthroughs, more companies that flywheel can start taking off.”
Nvidia’ s approach to AI as transformational infrastructure As part of Nvidia’ s investment in the UK, it has established the UK Sovereign AI Industry Forum, bringing together British businesses to develop and deploy AI infrastructure.
The group includes BT, National Grid and BAE Systems, the defence contractor.
“ AI is both a technology but it is also an infrastructure,” Jensen explains.
“ Because this technology is so broad and so transformative to every single industry, it will be considered infrastructure just as electricity was infrastructure, just as information connectivity that came about because of the internet is infrastructure.”
