That means the role of data scientists , far from being diminished , is perhaps more important than ever .
“ These tools are actually the data scientists ' jet-pack for getting their analyses in front of senior management and should be considered a vital tool in any data scientist ’ s toolkit ,” she says . “ There is a growing understanding that insights garnered from data analysis are only as effective as your ability to communicate them and action change . Self-serve UIs that are in use throughout the organisation are not a threat to the data scientist position – in many cases , the data scientists are the people who created these screens and democratising insights in this way showcases the power and benefits of an effective data science team .”
Magic bullet ? Data visualisation should not be seen as a magic bullet .
